CCD chip size is normally 1/4'', 1/3" or 1/2". As a thumb rule the larger size, the higher density 1/4" and 1/3" CCD chips can now produce as an image as many older 1/3" or 1/2" chips.
4. Know about Light Level: Light level is most important specification on CCTV camera with good light control you can not get good image. Light levels are measured in Lux. The lower the number, The less light it will take to reproduce good image.
5.Know about Resolution: Resolution effects your CCTV image. Resolution level are measured in TVL or T.V. Lines (for Analog camera) and MP or Megapixel (for IP camera). Analog camera entry level resolution is 300 lines, high resolution cameras producing better than 400 lines.
6. Select Monitor: Select a monitor that will match the resolution of your CCTV camera system.
7. Choose Recorder: If you are looking for analog camera you require DVR (Digital Video Recorder).
